I have over eighteen years experience web development  and six years experience as an entrepreneur.  What was once a hobby became my full-time profession in 2009 after realizing it was what drove me all along.  I started my company Geek-e-Gurl Designs in 2009 after working within the social service/non-profit sector.

Originally from, Racine, Wisconsin, I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work (BSW) from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. I completed my Masters of Science in Social Work, (MSW) Community Administration Leadership, (CAL) in May 2006 from the University of Texas at Austin.

In 2013  I started contracting with government agencies on internal projects including developing web applications for internal use and serving as the web administrator, systems analyst,  SQL database administrator.

In 2014 I was a speaker at SXSW  highlighting investments made from the hip hop community into tech: Startup Star Power: Startups Backed by Celebrity. I have also had the opportunity to be a guest on the podcast Cool Things Entrepreneurs Do  Episode #66 episode with host Thom Singer in 2015 where I talked about my entrepreneurial path.

This 2016 I started the Austin Girl Geek Dinners chapter to promote the conversation of women in tech and creating conferences geared towards women in tech.  We have monthly dinners to meet and discuss topics which surround us.
